Baby Boy Watercolor Card (Jane's Doodles DT Spotlight)

Hi everyone! :o)

On Wednesday, August 24th, was my turn to be on the spotlight over at Jane's Doodles and I made this Baby Boy Watercolor Card.

Last week my cousin was visiting me and this weekend my mom. I had such a wonderful time. I didn't think about computer and spending time on it at all, so my spotlight project post is a bit late. :o)

I made this CAS (clean and simple) card for my friend's baby boy Roko, who was born this month. I used an adorable stamp from Jane's Doodles 'Special Delivery' stamp set.

I stamped the image on a watercolor paper panel and colored it in watercolor technique with Distress Inks. I colored baby's face with colored pencils.

After drying I glued the panel on a white cardstock card base. Through the night the panel wrinkled. So satisfied with coloring but no clue how to flat wrinkles. It made me so sad. After a good cup of coffee I got it. IRON!!! :o)

I covered the card with 100% cotton cloth and ironed the card. Card flattened!!! Happiness overload!! :o)

Lion Birthday Card (KBD Aloha Friday Challenge #78 Mid Inspiration)

http://kittybeedesigns.blogspot.com/

Happy Friday everyone! :o)

Today I'm sharing a mid-inspiration project for an ongoing Aloha Friday Challenge at Kitty Bee Designs.

The challenge for this fortnight is #78 - Color Challenge. Use at least 2 colors from this color palette.
Summer, Pineapple Hues

We have two sponsors for this challenge: Crafty Sentiments Designs and Scribbles Designs, so there will be double prizes! :o)

For this challenge I made this CAS (clean and simple), Lion Birthday Card, using Kitty Bee Designs ADORABLE image, Lychee the Lion.

How I made my card...

I printed the image on a white watercolor paper and colored it in watercolor technique using Distress Inks and Stabilo Pens. When I was satisfied, I fussy cut the image, colored the edges with black marker and glued it over second image printed on cardstock paper. I do this to make images thicker, as I use thin watercolor paper which doesn't work well with 3-D foams. :o)

I fussy cut the image again, leaving white border around it.

I stamped sentiment on a top folded white card base, glued 3-D foams on the back of the lion and placed him on the card. Small enamel dot on a flower center and my card was finished. :o)

Dimensions: 101 mm x 133 m(4" x 5 1/4")

Ombré Effect Birthday Cards (Jane's Doodles DT Spotlight)

Hi everyone! :o)

Today was my turn to be on the spotlight over at Jane's Doodles and I made these Ombr
é Effect Birthday Cards.

I love bold sentiments and these I used from 'CAKE!' stamp set are gorgeous! Perfect to create CAS cards. :o)

I have so many upcoming birthdays and, with current working schedule, not so much time to create, so I made two same CAS design cards. Quick and very easy to create. I was inspired with Season's Greetings Blue Card I made in November last year.

heat embossed with white embossing powder sentiments from beautiful Jane's Doodles stamp set, 'CAKE!'on white cardstock panels. Then I blended panels with Distress Inks creating Ombré Effect. For each card I used only one color.

When I was satisfied with blended colors, I trimmed both panels a bit, because I don't like distressed edges on panels when placing them on white card bases. :o)

I glued 3-D foams on panels and glued them on top folded white card bases.

White enamel dots to add more interest to cards, and my cards were finished. :o)

Cards dimensions: 107 mm x 139 mm (4 1/4" x 5 1/2")

Daisies for you Card (Jane's Doodles DT Spotlight)

    Hi everyone :o)

Yesterday was my turn to be on the spotlight over at Jane's Doodles and I made this Daisies for you Card.

To make this card, I was inspired with Daisies Boxes I made in May.

I heat embossed with clear embossing powder daisies from beautiful Jane's Doodles stamp set'Daisies'on a white cardstock panel. Then I blended the panel with Distress Inks, splattered the panel with water and repeated the process until I was satisfied with colors.

I trimmed the panel a bit, to make it smaller than card base. I could use smaller panel in a start, but I don't like distressed edges on panels when placing them on white card bases, so trimming is necessary. :o)

To add more interest to my card, I drew white stitches on the panel with white gel pen and the panel was finished.

Next up was a sentiment. Oh this took me so much time. First I couldn't decide what sentiment to put on the card. When I finally decided to use sentiment from 'Mr. & Mrs. Claus', I couldn't decide in what technique to make it, to stamp it, heat emboss it, what color to use... So I made couple of sentiments and tried them. The winner was heat embossed in white on a black cardstock paper. :o)

Last, I assembled card together. I glued 3-D foams on the back of the panel and sentiment and glued them on a top folded white card base. Couple of clear droplets and my card was finished. :o)

    Card dimensions: 107 mm x 139 mm (4 1/4" x 5 1/2")
