Birthday Boy Card - Croatian Sentiment (Jane's Doodles DT Spotlight)

Hi everyone! :o)

Today is my turn to be on the spotlight over at Jane's Doodles and I made this CAS (clean and simple), Birthday Boy Card.

I made this card for my friend's son who will turn 6 this week. A sentiment is in Croatian and says 'Happy Birthday'.

To make this card, I used stamps from two adorable Jane's Doodles stamp sets. Super fun and cute boy is from a 'Double Touble' stamp set. For the sentiment I used letters from 'ABC's' stamp set.

First I stamped the boy and sentiment on a white side folded card base and colored the boy with black permanent pen. Then I stamped another boy on a watercolor paper and colored him in watercolor technique using Distress Inks. After drying, I fussy cut the boy, colored edges with black marker and glued him over the 'black' boy on the card base (paper piecing/layering). Lastly, drew a frame line with fine tip marker and finished the letter Đ (added dash on the letter D) and my card was finished. :o)

Card dimensions: 140 mm x 92 mm (5 1/2" x 3 3/4")

Colorful Snake Card (Jane's Doodles DT Spotlight)

    Hi everyone! :o)

Today is my turn to be on the spotlight over at Jane's Doodles and I made this CAS (clean and simple), Colorful Snake Card.

To make this card, I used stamps from two adorable Jane's Doodles stamp sets. All images are from a 'Smile' stamp set and a sentiment from 'Love Birds' stamp set.

First I made masks. I stamped images from the set on paper scraps and fussy cut them out. I will use those masks again. They will be a great help to arrange scenes in future and I won't have to make new masks for some time. I stored them in a pouch with the stamp set.:o)

Next up was masking and stamping. I stamped images in two opposite corners of a Kraft cardstock paper panel and the sentiment in the center of the panel. Here and there I fixed some lines with black fine permanent marker. I colored stamped images with TOZ Artist Color colored pencils and snake's eyes and teeth with white gel pen.

I glued the colored panel on another Kraft cardstock paper panel (same size as a card base), glued everything on the white sided folded card base and my card was finished. :o)

    Card dimensions: 92 mm x 124 mm (3 5/8 x 4 7/8")

    List of supplies:
      • Jane's Doodles 'Smile' stamp set (images)

Colorful Cacti Pot Card (AAA Cards Game #94 GDT)

      Hi everyone! :o)

I was delighted to be asked to be a Guest Designer at AAA Cards for a Game #94, after I won 1st place in their Game #92 The Birthday Card Challenge. I love playing AAA Cards challenges, as their challenges are all about CAS (clean and simple) cards, my favorite card design. :o)

The Game #94 theme is one layer with a colored card base AAA Cards is pairing this challenge with Less is More.

Card design has to be CAS. Here is a CAS definition from AAA Cards blog:
Notice: there are various CAS cards definitions on various blogs.

And here is my take on the challenge: CAS (clean and simple), one layer,  Colorful Cacti Pot Card.

To make this card, I used GORGEOUS Jane's Doodles 'Cactus' stamp setSucculents and cactus are my favorite plants, so you can imagine how much I LOVE the set. :o)

When I received the stamp set (August 2016), I stamped all images on paper scraps and fussy cut them out. I made these to use them as a help to arrange scenes and as masks. I store these in a pouch with the stamp set.:o)

For a card base I used Kraft Paper, my favorite colored cardstock paper. I stamped the cactus/succulent pot directly on the card base using pre-made masks. Here and there I fixed some lines with black fine liner. I colored the stamped image with colored pencils. After coloring, I stamped a sentiment on the card base, overlapping the pot.

To add more interest to my card, I outlined the image and sentiment with white pencil, punched two opposite corners with a rounded corner paper puncher and my card was finished. :o)

      Card dimensions: 95 mm x 127 mm (3 3/4" x 5")

      List of supplies:
      • Jane's Doodles 'Cactus' stamp set
      • Crafter's Companion Neenah Desert Storm Kraft Coloring Card
      • Ranger Archival Ink (Jet Black)
      • TOZ Artist Color colored pencils
        • light yellow
        • dark yellow
        • light orange
        • dark red
        • light green
        • dark green
        • light blue
        • dark blue
        • white
      • Staedtler Lumocolor permanent black pen S (superfine) 0.4 mm
      • eraser
      • pencil sharpener
      • Fiskars High Precision Personal Paper Trimmer
      • bone folder
      • rounded corner paper puncher
      • acrylic block (102 mm x 102 mm)
      • pre-made masks

      I Love Math Challenge #6

Hello everyone and welcome to a new I Love Math ChallengeThis is the sixth challenge. If you're new to my blog, you can find all about the challenge here.

The theme for this challenge is Hexagon(s).

Hexagon, in a geometry, is a six sided polygon or 6-gon. Regular or irregular, the total of the internal angles of any hexagon is 720°.

A very talented designer and a Math lover is joining Neha and me in this challenge. It's Kaja Vezenšek of Kajcyika crafts, amazing crafter and friend from Slovenia.

Kaja and I (and Neha) are in the same Design Team at Jane's Doodles. Her designs are amazing and her creations super cute and very inspiring. Kaja supports this challenge from it's beginning participating in most challenges with her amazing creations. I was overwhelmed when she accepted my invitation to be a Guest Designer for this challenge.

      Here is what Kaja said:
"I love math! I really do! That's why 'I love math' challenges that Milka is hosting are always fun and exciting for me. When Milka asked me if I would be a guest designer, I just couldn't say no! This time around the theme is hexagon, so the first thing that came to my mind were bees!"

And here is GORGEOUS Kaja's card! I LOVE IT!!! :o)

AMAZING design, super sweet scene, beautiful bright colors, adorable bees and flowers... Kaja used stencil to create beautiful hexagons background. I love her take on the challenge!!! Jump over to Kaja's blog and find out more details about her card, how she made it and what products she used. :o)

Here is Neha's AMAZING take on the challenge. :o)

When Neha sent me photo of her card my jaw dropped. STUNNING!!! Brilliant CAS design!! Love her take on the challenge!! Layered die-cut hexagons create camera's objective. Such a cool idea!!! Jump over to Neha's blog and find out more details about her card. :o)

And here is my take on the challenge: Rainbow Hexagon Birthday Card.

I heat embossed in white hexagon pattern from Jane's Doodles 'Geometric Patterns' stamp set (which is discontinued) on a white cardstock paper panel. Then I blended Distress Inks on the panel (embossing resist technique), following a rainbow pattern. When I was satisfied with colors, I dried the panel, trimmed it a bit (didn't like edges), wiped it with a dry cloth, glued it on a slightly larger black cardstock paper panel and glued everything on a top folded white card base.

Then I heat embossed in black die-cut 'happy', run over edges with black permanent marker and glued it on the card. I don't have a die-cutting machine. I got this die-cut from my friend Kristina from kristina's art corner, among other crafty stuff. :o)

Lastly, I heat embossed in white on a black cardstock paper stripe word 'birthday' from Mama Elephant 'Starry Night' stamp set. I used white gel pen to fix lines that weren't embossed well. I cut the stripe to desirable size and glued foam tape on back of it. I glued the stripe on the card overlapping the word happy and my card was finished.

      Card dimensions: 95 mm x 126 mm  (3 3/4" x 5")

      List of supplies :
      • Jane's Doodles 'Geometric Patterns' stamp set; stamp set is discontinued
      • Mama Elephant 'Starry Night' stamp set (word 'birthday')
      • Mama Elephant 'Happy Script' white cardstock paper die-cut

Moon and Stars Card III (LMMS Inspiration)

      Hi everyone! :o)

It's Little Miss Muffet Stamps Inspiration Week and I made this CAS (clean and simple),  one layer, Moon and Stars Card. :o)

For my card I used beautiful LMM's Forgotten Scraps 'Second Star to the Right Sentiment' digital stamp. This is my third take on this digi. You can find my previous cards here and here.

I had the image printed on a cardstock paper panel for some time. I masked the Moon and sentiment with post-it paper and blended the panel with Distress Inks. I splattered the panel with water, dried it, blended colors again, splattered with water and repeated the process several times. When I was satisfied with the panel color, I splattered the panel with Distress Ink Black Soot and dried it with Heat It Tool.

I removed masks and watercolored the Moon with Distress Ink Faded Jeans. I used a little water for coloring, as the cardstock paper isn't fan of water.

I glued the panel on a white top folded card base, coated the Moon, sentiment and stars with clear Wink of Stella and my card was finished. :o)

      Card dimensions: 89 mm x 121 mm (3 1/2" x 4 3/4")
